AI Crossword — Privacy Policy

Introduction

Setagaya Studio ("we," "us," or "our") operates the AI Crossword mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information. The App does not require an account, login, or registration. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

Topics you type. When you enter a topic to generate a crossword puzzle, that text is sent to the Anthropic API (a third-party AI service) solely to generate your puzzle. We do not store, log, or retain these topics on our own servers.

On-device data. Puzzle progress and preferences are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data is never transmitted to any server.

Purchase data. If you subscribe to AI Crossword Pro, the RevenueCat SDK processes your in-app purchase. RevenueCat may collect anonymous device identifiers (such as a vendor ID) and purchase receipts to manage your subscription. We do not have access to your Apple ID, payment method, or billing details.

No analytics or tracking. The App does not include any analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Anthropic (Claude API) — processes the topics you type to generate crossword puzzles. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.

RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions and purchase validation. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple — processes payments through your Apple ID account. Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to retain. Topics sent to the Anthropic API are processed in real time and are subject to Anthropic's own data retention policies. On-device puzzle data remains on your device until you delete the App.

Children's Privacy

AI Crossword is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data through the App, please contact us at hello@setagaya.studio and we will take steps to delete it.

Your Rights (GDPR & Global Privacy)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with applicable data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, as well as the right to restrict or object to its processing.

Because AI Crossword does not collect or store personal data on our servers, these rights are effectively satisfied by default. If you have questions or wish to exercise any rights, contact us at hello@setagaya.studio.

Data Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit, including HTTPS encryption for all API communications. Since no personal data is stored on our servers, there is minimal risk of a data breach on our end. On-device data is protected by iOS's built-in security features.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
